The injuries Ada did not allow her to play for a long time, but we must not forget that she was the first player to win a Ballon d'Or, she won six women's league champions with OL among other titles, and she is one of the players who scored the most goals in the UWCL.

I have to commend DAZN for the high quality of their productions and the great job they have done with streaming the UWCL thus far. If this level of access and quality was consistent across women's football, it would be excellent.

Anyway I've been a Lyon fan for 6 years now and the CL really is a special competition for us. OL has a very long history in this competition (and in women's football as a whole, even if some rival fans enjoy minimizing our successes). There have been so many iconic moments, we have Ada's record breaking 52nd goal season in 2016, the 2017 PK shoot out won by Bouhaddi, the 2018 monster comeback heralded by Amandine Henry, the clean efficiency of the 2019 victory in Marozsan's hometown, and that 2020 triumph with Saki's amazing shot amidst the whole covid crisis. 2016 will always be my favorite, I think, there's something about Louisa Necib and Lotta Schelin blinking tears out of their eyes after their last game for the club, a trophy after 4 years of disappointments.

What has made OL a consistent top performer has been the winning mentality carried by the veterans of the team. Even when our play has been less than ideal, e.g. 2018, the tenacity and experience of the older players has been instrumental in pushing us through. 2022 OL is in a bit of a transitional period; new manager, new approach, many of our older players are aging, new signings, and the crazy amount of injuries is not helping. I'm not sure how I feel about our odds this season – I think November OL was in pretty great form, but now it's much trickier. However, I have no doubt the girls will give their absolute best, and we will all be cheering for them.

    Nous sommes l'Olympique Lyonnais ❤💙.
