Pre season is a small percentage of what Ten Hag is calculating when assessing any player's value. I would think reviewing training is close to 80% of total player evaluation. Donny being at the right place at the right time once could be an outlier. If there was a larger sample size, the same result may not be consistently replicated. Even a hattrick doesn't equal a top class professional if completed once IE Macheda.
